I love Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. I just do. I’ve said it before, but I just can’t get enough of mid-century design. Known as a pioneering master for modern architecture and design, Mies van der Rohe created clear and simple elements that conveyed a functional and balanced theme.

We have been apartment hunting the last couple weeks, and I would love to find my own version of the Farnsworth House. (Maybe a little bigger, and built above the flood plain of course.)

However, it wouldn’t be complete without a quintessential Mies chair. How about the Barcelona?

  1. Mies is one of my favorites! Sometimes I think that when I go back to school, I should study architecture or design. I can’t get enough of it!

  2. The Farnsworth House–so simple, such clean lines, no fluff. My parents built a similar home for themselves: one level, lots of glass, built in cabinets, clean lines.
