This weekend we ate at The Dodo, an iconic restaurant in Sugar House. We drive past it almost every day and have always wanted to go in. Several people told us we would love their salads and desserts, and we definitely did!
I had a cob salad, the largest and best cob salad I’ve ever eaten. The homemade buttermilk dressing was fantastic, and the whole thing was cut into edible pieces mixed really well. (I love it when I don’t have to cut my salads into bite-sized pieces.)
They have a group of confection chefs who make a variety of pies, cakes, and desserts fresh each day. To top things off we ordered a piece of peanut butter cream pie. I was thrilled when the waiter told me the pecan butter crust was gluten free. Brent and I shared the piece, and it was so thick and rich we could barely finish. (Thank goodness for the mound of sweet cream on top.)
The ambiance of the restaurant was wonderful, the service great, and the food amazing. Overall, we were very satisfied with our meal and are excited to go back again. If you love soups, sandwiches, salads, and desserts then this is the place for you! We can’t wait to take our next visitors to eat at The Dodo.
