Lights

Last night Brent and I spent some time in downtown for the annual ‘Lights on Celebration’ at Temple Square. Deseret Book’s flagship store also handed out hot chocolate and featured a street performance by Alex Boye, who sang Christmas songs from his new album.

After Brent captured the footage he needed from the performance we headed across the street and joined the throngs of people taking in the Christmas lights. By this time we had already been standing on the street for a good hour and a half, and our fingers and toes were really feeling the 19-degree weather. Brent snapped a few pictures and we headed home to defrost.

His images are intentionally out of focus. He loves the quality of blurred Christmas lights. In the end it makes for an abstract image of illumination. I love it.
