The University of Utah has a new business building going up right next door to our offices. It is quite the extensive project, and going to be an amazing asset to the university once it’s finished. Last week we were invited to go on a site tour of the facility. We all donned our shiny red helmets and protective goggles, tramped through the mud and snow, and spent a good hour shivering and walked around a half-finished building. My dad spent a lot of time working on job sites when I was younger, and we often visited him at work, so I have fond memories of construction site sounds and smells. It was a good tour, and as a big screw driver fell from above and bounced inches in front of me, I was glad I had a hard helmet.
