Last Friday we decided to head for the mountains and hike to Secret Lake, in the Albion Basin. When I got home from work we had a quick dinner, packed a light bag, and headed up the canyon. We’d heard good things about the hike, and were excited to be in the Wasatch Mountains and stretch our legs.
The hike was short and pretty simple, but it had some incredible views. We watched the sun set behind the mountains and enjoyed the cool air. (It’s amazing how quickly the weather changes. We could definitely feel the approach of fall.) After snapping a few pictures, enjoying the view, and bypassing several moose in the trail on the way back, we climbed into the car to warm up and head home. I’m always amazed at how quickly you can go from the bustle of Salt Lake Valley to the wilderness and back. I love it here.
