Lone Star Taqueria

Yesterday was Brent’s birthday, and all he really wanted was a good, authentic, Mexican meal for dinner. We haven’t found a decent place since moving up to Salt Lake, so I’ve been hunting around and asking for recommendations all week. A friend at work suggested the Lone Star Taqueria in Fort Union. Apparently they were featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives TV show, and after indulging last night we can definitely see why.

The food was delicious, the service was quick, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. You know you’ve found an authentic Mexican restaurant when the customers around you are all speaking Spanish, and there are groups of people from California sporting Dodgers hats. We ate way too much, but enjoyed every bite. I’m glad I was able to give Brent exactly what he wanted for his birthday. And I’m positive we’ll be back soon.
