Google & Mies

Have you seen Google’s logo today? They’ve really outdone themselves this time, placing the iconic multi-colored letters into the structure of the Crown Hall building in Chicago. Today’s the birthday of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, pioneer of modern architecture and creator of Crown Hall, the Barcelona Chair, the McCormick house, the Brno Chair, the Farnsworth House, and the Seagram Building, only to name a few of course. I’ve made mention of him before, as I love both his architecture and his interior designs. He’s inspired generations to design and create under the notion that “less is more.” Nicely done, Google.
